Do the Athletics have a chance??

We'll see! Even though they didn't have a successful year in season, hubby got the park district to let the DeKalb teams have a tournament of their own so they would have a chance at winning. The neighboring towns, have a totally different way of forming teams, so it seemed fair.

We waited a week and had the first DeKalb tournament game last night...the Athletics rocked it! Totally rocked it...they had 2 double plays, my Big D did some excellent pitching and the boys in the field caught some fast flying balls...excellent! They ended up winning 13-3 - a nice little boost in morale for them...they play again tonight for "championship" wish them luck!

The Angels sweep not only season champs....

but also the tournament championship! My son Jacob's team had a wonderful year! They had a great group of guys working together, to have the ambition and pride to win not only the season champs, but tournament champs this year! Jacob's coach gave every boy on the team a "game ball" saying they were all MVP's and he wrote champion 2008 on it. Jacob was so excited, he had to go right out and get a stand for it.

He also gave a great speach on how great they were, how he had no troubles with any of them and attributed it to the parents. It really was very cool!

Congratulations Boys!! It was an exciting and amazing year for them. (pictures to come soon!)

Cheep!

Recently, my mom sent me a picture of my dad with this bird. Apparently, dad was sitting on the bench when this little guy hopped up next to him. Mom said, dad actually smiled at the bird, and then proceeded to pat it on the head....(uncommon for dad, who likes everyone to think he is a hardass, when he's really marshmallows inside...) and the little bird just stayed there next to him.
Obviously a baby, not an adult, but the fact it trusted dad says a lot. Go dad! Go little birdie! :D

VH1 Rock Honors the Who

I heard this was going to be on...and luckily, we were watching something on VH1 when the show came on, cause I would have forgotten. I love the Who and enjoyed the show. I personally like Pete best, cause not only can he shake that ass, but he can write and is so freakin intelligent...just wanted to share a clip, ROCK ON PEEPS :)

Chakra Bracelet

As you may or may not know, I recently opened an Etsy.com store and recently whilst going through an emotionally trying time, I decided this chick needs a chakra bracelet! So, I dug in my drawers and put this together...I thought, gee...I need to offer chakra bracelets in my store, so I have been formulating beads and styles...be on the look out in my store, if you're ever interested in having a nice chakra (energy centers) balancing bracelet...here's mine!

This is view numero uno...you can see the mellow yellow jade, the healing prehnite and rose quartz and the soothing angelite...and the crystal quartz dangles i put on it for that added oomph!
This is the bracelet laid out so you can see the detail...I even made the S clasp mee self!
From left to right, Amethyst for the Crown, Sugalite for the third eye, Angelite, for the throat, Prehnite and Rose Quartz, for the heart, Yellow Jade for the Solar Plexus, Red Zebra Jasper for the sacral area, and Hypersthene for the root. The new gems I get will be slightly different...

the purdee clasp :)
the other side of the coin...er...bracelet :)

Do you like the different sizes and shapes...or do you think you would like all uniform...or both?

My Windowsill

This is the windowsill right by my desk at work...I am surrounded by windows, which is great and aweful at the same time...great on a rainy day, and I can watch these awesome storms move through, and aweful on a beautiful day, like today, when I just want to be "out there" enjoying it! :) I used to have all these items on my desk, but decided they enjoyed it on the sill instead, and check out my new peacock feather, gifted to me by my friend Joan. Thanks, Joan. :)

This peacock feather has such amazing energy...it really gets to tingling in my hands and helps to lighten my mood. I just love it. I have so many feathers...I really want to find something special to do with the ones I don't use for working on people.

I found the feather while on a walk one day...it was right in the middle of the sidewalk, saying pick me up! Such a pretty feather. The Citrine I use to help absorb any negativity in the office. I bought it several years ago when things got heated around here...now, everyone is feeling much better. The pine cone I also found on a walk. and the Crystal Jacob brought for me and the Female Shaman stone just likes being in with everyone else :) A little of the natural world here for me.

Patio Lovelies :D

This is my new patio lovely :) It was born out of a need to be able to hang the beautiful, yet fragile windchimes the boys gave me for Mother's Day. I was looking for a shepards hook I could somehow rig to sit on the patio, so they wouldn't get beaten in the wind...when I saw a trellis just like the one I already had at Blain's Farm and Fleet...The scrolls on the sides were perfect! Then I thought, plant it in a big pot and get a vine to grow up it. This honeysuckle (I found out its yellow, mom) was just right for that, since they smell so awesome!
Then I thought, with a lovely plant, I should brush the cobwebs off the house, sweep the patio and put out some chairs so we can enjoy the mornings listening to the chimes and smelling the honeysuckle :) So, these folding chairs fit the bill. I have a plant stand and a spare stepping stone to make a makeshift table until I get a permanent one.I had some amethyst a friend dropped at my house (still waiting for her to decide what to do with all that quartz she left me :)) so I thought the faeries would love the amethyst and the amethyst would love the dirt.
This is the sign next to the door on the porch...I love this sign!

4th of July Fishing!

I was feeling sorta blah on Friday...I didn't want to do much of anything...it was so strange! I didn't want the boys to go off somewhere, but I didn't want to go anywhere...poor Adam, he didn't know what to do with me...well, I decided to go and take a shower at oh, 1:30 pm, and when I came down the boys had decided we would all go fishing...not wanting to rain on any parades, besides I love fishing, I decided that was a good idea.

I also decided it would be a lot of fun (after some prodding from Adam) to rent a boat and get on the lake and do it instead of fishing from the sides (there are a lot of weeds on the sides...) So, we rented a motor boat and headed out :) It was a beautiful day!! Nothing better than a nice day of fishing on a lake. Cheered me right up. I also decided to bring the camera, and we had fun with it...taking pictures of the day...

This is me telling Jacob how to operate the camera...this is the result of that instruction...and of course David in the back with his instructions too...

David decided to be obnoxious and continuously remove my hat, so I decided to be obnoxious and hit him with my hat...served him right.David's first fish of the day...he ended up with 4 total for the afternoon :)This is Jacob's first catch of the day...baby croppies :) He ended up with 3 for the day...the lurers they were using worked well for them :)This is David's purdee fish :) I really liked him.
This is Jacob's big fish...and he was fanning out his fins, so Jacob wanted a picture of him :) Dang, now I can't remember which fish came first...oh well, it's a pretty fish anyway :)

My only fish of the day :) It's sure pretty though, and I think I beat out Adam's only fish of the day below, har dee har har! I was using worms...not lurers, so that's my excuse :)
Jacob ruminates on the day...and spins some tales from his creative mind. :)

David and Jacob got to drive the boat around the lake before we took it back they had fun :)

Blondie :)

Edited...Mom, this is what it looks like today...and yes, I still have the same hairdo...:D

It's no big secret I dye my hair...and highlight it...I have forever, and I don't intend to stop now...hey at least I'm not 41 and dying my hair pink...though some days I think it would be fun :D ha ha...Here's me and my new color...back to blonde :)

My mom asked me is it in preparation for turning gray...honey...I'm not preparing to get gray...it's already arrived. But I'm not making it at home!

When I arrived home, Adam said, so you're a hot blonde now? I said well, yeah, of course! duhhhh lol :)

Baseball and more Baseball :)

Jacob's team is the first in the league, so naturally everyone wants to beat them...as of last night, they have lost a total of 2 games...last night being the 2nd one. They have a couple of really good pitchers on the team...and they laid off the star pitcher last night, putting him in the catchers seat all night. I guess they only have 2 more games until the tournament, and the coach wanted to wake the guys up in the field...my own son definitely included. Wow, He was sleeping! I told him dad is taking him out and practicing fielding with him, cause I think he forgot how. :)

Now, granted last night was the "nice" coach's turn to coach...the regular coach took vacation, but if he had been there last night...wow...can't imagine the verbal whooping they would have gotten...but it usually gets them back on track...so hopefully Friday's game will be better.

Jacob says he is going to pitch to me 20 mile an hour balls so I can see what it's like to try and hit one...I said go for it! :) Hopefully, we'll get the chance to do that soon.

David's getting to pitch sometimes...this is his delivery :)

So, David's team isn't doing so hot this year, but last night they did have sort of a small "victory"...they actually got some fire in them and tried to make a comeback in the last inning...they were yelling and cheering and making a mini rally to get back the runs they lost...Adam told me it was sort of a strange game that way...they lost 20-9...but they never put their heads down...so KUDOS to David's team!!
