Summer Fun :)

Now that school is over, yea!, the boys are having fun, just relaxing and playing baseball and yes, reading! They have been riding over to the library in town, now that there is a safe road that goes through to the other side of town. I am determined to actually get on my bike and ride the distance too, but our weekends seem to be full of other things and evenings with baseball...hm.

Anyway, Jacob's team is doing well, so far only one loss. Jacob got the "mvp ball" the other night when he was playing an awesome game....scored 3 outs in separate innings doing a great job of fielding the ball at 2nd base. He also got some good hits and a couple runs home. very proud of him...we have decided his coach is strict, but not mean. :) Maybe that's the perfect combination for Jacob to thrive...cause he is actually enjoying himself this year.

David's team isn't doing as well, but hopefully they will get it turned around. David's enjoying the fresh air and he's liking baseball...just needs to "look alive" and so do his teammates...laid back bunch that is for sure.

Happy summer everyone!

Fathers Day 2008

Happy Belated Fathers Day to everyone :) (including my own dad...!! sorry dad...I'm making it up to you later this week - yikes!) We had a nice day in Chicago. My father in law just bought a new condo so we went to check it out! Hm, he had just enough room for all of us to find a quiet spot somewhere! Be it on the balcony...at the pool...or a bedroom :) lol...

This is Beth and her little ones...Luke is going to be 11 soon, and Taylor turns 7 next week!
Me and Taylor :) She wanted a picture with Aunt Jill :)

This is my Jakey-Bakey at the computer :)
Marshall (my father in law) with Taylor (you can tell she is our only girl and gets lots of attention, but she is a good young lady)
Marshall and David...those ear phones never ever leave his head.
Marshall and his family...brother Tony, Cousin (sorry...I'm bad with names!) and Adam looking on with a rather sinister look.
The kids chowing down...it was a beautiful day :)

David's Big Hair Day!

The last part of the year, David agreed to have his hair cut for the summer, thank goodness! His hair was so long...I just knew when he cut it he would feel so much better, so far...so good! These are pictures from our visit to see Katie today. Good going David. You look awesome! Too bad you can't just give your mom a nice smile...for crying out loud! lol...:)

Jacob's first game of the season, and they win!

Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of last nights game....but I can give you the highlights...one...they won! 3-1...it was a close game, but young Jacob got some good hits...I think his coach is very motivating. He tells Jacob to "get mad at the ball" .lol...can do!

Jacob had a nice hit to outfield and got on first...Adam is convinced that he would have made it to 2nd, but Jacob was not in a running mood. lol...He did get run home, almost got called out, cause he hates to slide...dirties the pants you know. lol His team did really well, good pitchers good players. I was very proud of them...go Angels!

Another update on the Jakester, well, he's been complaining his knee hurts, just aches, nothing too horrible, but it's been like that for a while now. Adam took the boys for checkups yesterday, and he mentioned it to the dr. Turns out he has a tendonitis in his knee and the dr. said he would grow out of it. Also said Jacob has virtually flat feet, so he runs flatfooted...might aggravate it, but should be fine in time.

David Graduates from 8th Grade

Here's the video! My camera even has sound which I found fascinating :) enjoy this little video :)

I have a lonely video of him accepting his honor certificates...just have to figure out how to get it off my camera...it's a cool thing, you can even here the yelling from the girls in the class. I'll post it as soon as I can :D

They had the ceremony at NIU in the Holmes Student Center last night, June 2nd. He received honors for grades, and was recognized for band (NCJC and Honors Band) and for being in Scholastic Bowl.

Wow, the girls Volleyball and Basketball teams had perfect records too...amazing!

I had to wrestle him into a new shirt I bought him...and he looked really good. :) Now, for that hair cut! HA! He soooo needs one. I think he's afraid to show his whole face where people can see him, looking at them. But with baseball season underway, that boy needs to stay cool!

It's "official"!

Jacob is escaping from elementary school in 1 1/2 days...and to prove it...we went to his "graduation" from 5th grade breakfast this morning! Yay!!
Way to go Jacob!!
