Sharing

Last night we had a good time at the sharing of the spirit circle. I took my third turn at hosting one and last night we played with pendulums...I enjoyed it, and even sold one of my pendulums :) A young lady named Holly was a part of the fun, and I set up a find the object exercise. Holly was my volunteer. Leave it to a ten year old to really be able to follow her instincts. She went right to the object, so I had to reward her with a pendulum all her own, brand new.

Tonight is Jacob's batting practice, so I imagine Ad will take him for that...nothing then until Friday, when both boys have a game...yikes...I really hope they aren't at the same time! I love to watch them both play...it's really so much fun. I just hope once and for all we get some warm weather!!! I feel like an icicle sitting here typing this.

Adam is still looking for a job, albeit not out of the state yet...he told me in another couple weeks, if he still doesn't have a job, he'll begin looking outside IL. So, we'll see what happens then!

Congratulations Jeffery!

Congratulations Jeff on your graduation, AND for being accepted into an awesome screen actors college! We are so excited for you!! We attended the party for Jeff on Sunday, and had a great time with the family and all Jeff's friends...here are some pictures of our family :)
Here's Jenna, our expectant mom and girlfriend of Steven my nephew...they are having a boy in October! Congratulations, Jenna and Steve!

Here are Steve and Jenna together...they'll make a cute baby together for sure :)

Here's Jaybird playing on the driveway...

David does NOT like his picture taken...but I got him anyway! buwaahaaahaaa

Brian and Adam talking about...probably golf :)

snoreeee

I'm sleepy :) I guess that's what happens when you have a busy weekend and not much time to rest...but it was all good, as Saturday a friend and I went to the Gem and Jewelry Show, so overwhemling, I have never seen so many beads IN ONE PLACE! I didn't know where to begin and I was on overload being a capricorn...how is one to find the best deal in ALL THIS?? But I managed to spend some cash and make some beautiful pieces from my finds, after cleaning the house yesterday...here are some of my new beauties :)

It's amazing what you can do with some pretty beads, lovely silver and no one home to yell "mom!" or "hun"...that alone was a nice treat yesterday.

Jazz Band at the Library

Friday night, I attended a concert that David played bass in...he's been taking lessons every Tuesday afternoon, so he could play in the jazz band...he almost gave up on playing bass, and wanted us to rent another instrument! Can you believe it...I told him, bring up your grades, and I'll get you bass lessons. So, he managed to that semester :) And here is the fruit of his labor!

The band sounded really good. They had a former student, and current music student of NIU, of their band director come and volunteer to conduct them, since the other jazz band director got another job and left town. Mary Beth has been so much fun for the kids...cause she is is kid too :).

Baseball & Softball Season is on!

I have been getting a really good taste of what it means to juggle not only Jacob's early Saturday morning baseball practices and David's 2-3 games a week, plus having our own practice on Sunday and Monday Night games...I really didn't want to commit to softball...I wanted to leave one night a week for relaxing or doing beadwork, but I have to say I'm really enjoying it. I love the game and am always wanting to play with someone...so now I am!

First game Adam and I played we lost like 9-1...Adam and I only played 1 1/2 innings then...and the second game we beat some really young, in shape!, kids 13-12, then the last game we lost 3-7...but you know...it's just fun to get out in the air and with other people just as out of shape as I am! Jacob hasn't had any games yet. He just got his uniform and he's on the Angels. His first is May 30th. David has had like 6 games so far and lost all but the last one! woo hoo, they are on an upswing, and are doing much better now. :) His team this year is the A's. I hope they will win many more...especially since Adam's coaching it makes him feel really good, and David too, of course! Here are some pics from our antics...there are more at home...just have to find them :)

David and his team mate Jake. David doesn't appreciate his picture being taken... :)

Honors Band Concert 5/20/08

David made honors band (NCJC) and had his last concert of the year this last Tuesday..you know how teenagers are, they never want to ham it up for the camera, and despite my best efforts with my new camera, they still came out dark. You know what he tells me? Oh, none of them came out? No, but maybe if you would have let me take some nice pictures they would have been better...(mom guilt) ha ha... Here's David to the left :)

That night not only the honors band played, but also the honors orchestra and choir. WOW, they were amazing all of them!
